Joanna Valentine has been taking photos since she was in grammar school. Her work has shown in corporate offices in Los Angeles, and she has participated in art fairs and shows throughout Southern California. In 2005, one of her photos was included in the book "Architecture and Film," and the same year, she received Honorable Mention for her photography at the Lucie Awards in New York. In 2007, Joanna received an Honorable Mention prize from the international Prix de la Photographie Paris (Px3) competition. Trained as a sociologist, Mary Valentine's photos reflect experiences and sites from a variety of locations and cultures. Her photos have been displayed at shows and galleries in Southern California. She has also provided author portraits for book jackets and websites. In 2006, one of her photos was accepted by London’s Victoria and Albert Museum for its “Sunset” exhibition and competition.
